  1. I've learned SO much (and I'm still learning)from Mom--how to be kind to everyone, how to listen with love, how to sew, how to bounce a baby, how to be a grandma. One of my favorite memories is of her teaching me how to sew. It was in Wyview Village so I must have been in 6th grade. She had a piece of pillow ticking and told me to just follow the lines. So I sewed back and forth, up and down that piece of fabric til I had it down. Then she helped me make my first article of clothing--a pair of hot pink culottes with big white polka dots. LOVED them!

  3. This is actually from Janice Foutz:
I've learned she has to have jam on her toasted cheese (regardless of what else is in it), could live the rest of her life eating Trader Joe's roasted pepper and tomato soup, loves avocados, does NOT like rattlesnakes, and is a great traveling companion. She loves the temple, family history, and missionary work. I've learned how much she loves people and their stories, whether they are related or not, and that she will listen closely and completely and let you talk forever. I've learned how much she loves babies and that they love her in return. I may not have learned FROM her to put something different into my life, but I have learned about her. And everyone you learn about does add something to your own life, so I have learned from her after all! Hope everyone has fun at the party tomorrow!

  4. I have learned how to be a better cook and food preparer. I loved the classes she taught for her calling at her house when I was in Provo with my new baby Jack and learning how to roast veggies and dehydrate tomatoes and cook with food storage, so fun!

  7. I learned from Mom that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I always think of that when I am dealing with an angry patient or am the angry patient.
